Lisière has no account, no ads and no tracking. Your photos, locations, notes and tracks stay on your iPhone, and nothing is ever shared automatically.
1. Your journal
Sightings, photos, notes, outings and GPS tracks are stored locally (SwiftData), in the app's storage. You can export them yourself as CSV or GPX.
2. Blurred location by default
To protect sensitive species, only a zone (about 1 or 10 km, your choice) is stored. The precise location is then never saved. You can choose an exact location one sighting at a time.
3. Location
It is used to place and date a sighting and, during an outing you start, to record your route — including with the screen locked, with the iOS indicator visible. It is sent to no one.
4. Network
Species searches and “Around me” query the public iNaturalist API (the searched name, or a location rounded to ~100 m). Current weather is requested from Open-Meteo with a rounded location. No identifier is attached.
5. Camera and photos
Only the images you add to a sighting. They never leave your iPhone.
6. No tracking
No advertising or analytics SDK in the app. App Store label: “Data not collected”.
7. Deletion
Deleting a sighting or an outing erases it from the device; deleting the app erases the whole journal.
8. This website
This site only uses Google Analytics if you accept it through the cookie banner.
